100:1: Friendship; OT Lesson 23 (Core)

“The Lord Be Between Thee and Me For Ever”

The story of the faithful friendship between Jonathan and David, destined political opponents who instead became dear friends, is a masterpiece of storytelling. Once again, these powerful examples rest on historical realities far more complex and even troubling. This portion of the episode discusses:

  • What these stories tell us about friendship (focusing on Saul, Michal, Jonathan and David)
  • Friendship’s counterpoint: Jealousy and hatred
  • Deep discussion of friendship
    • Importance of friendship
    • Friendship in a gospel context
    • Friendship with God
    • How can we be better friends?
  • Conclusion

Since this is the 100th episode, I also wanted to link to an interview I did with Exploring Sainthood that discusses the podcast, among other topics. Be aware it fits more into the “Study Notes” tone, which is why I did not include it in our feed. But do take a listen if you are interested.

Jared, again, many thanks for the hard work you put into this podcast. It is incredibly meaningful to me.

I don’t know if it’s my technical issue or not with the drop-box files, but on both the core and study notes, the group discussion portion is not included. I hope this can be fixed if possible.

    Thanks!

Those were provisional files with the Lesson only until the full episodes were posted, which I did yesterday. The iTunes and audio links will now have both lesson and discussion for both portions.
